CALGAVIN Marks a Milestone with New State-of-the-Art Facility

CALGAVIN, a leader in thermal design and process optimisation, has officially moved into its new cutting-edge facility in Alcester, Warwickshire. This bold step marks a new era for the company, enhancing its capacity for innovation, research, and collaboration in fluid dynamics and heat transfer technology.
The new facility houses the Centre for Flow Processing (CFP), CALGAVIN's dedicated research arm. With nearly 45 years of expertise in thermal sciences and a legacy of transformative solutions like the hiTRAN Thermal System, CALGAVIN is poised to expand its impact in optimising industrial processes.
Innovation at the Core
Spanning over 800 square meters, the advanced testing facility includes custom-built rigs for single and multiphase heat transfer experimentation, coupled with in-tube mixing analysis capabilities powered by Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence (PLIF). Additionally, the facility integrates cutting-edge Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) capabilities to simulate and analyse complex flow behaviours. CFD enables CALGAVIN to design and refine advanced solutions with precision, reducing development time and enhancing performance outcomes.
The new space also includes prototyping capabilities like laser cutting, CNC machining, and 3D printing, enabling rapid development and implementation of bespoke solutions. These tools will accelerate CALGAVIN's ability to deliver on its commitment to reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions for industrial partners.
A Hub for Academic and Industrial Synergy
The Centre for Flow Processing exemplifies CALGAVIN's commitment to bridging the gap between academic research and industrial application. Collaborations with long term partners such as the University of Birmingham ensure that CALGAVIN remains at the forefront of cutting-edge discoveries in fluid flow and thermodynamics
"This move represents more than just a physical relocation—it’s a symbol of CALGAVIN’s growth and dedication to addressing the energy challenges of tomorrow," said Martin Gough, Managing Director, CALGAVIN. "Our new facility is not only a testament to our vision but a promise to our partners and clients that we will continue delivering innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions."
Driving the Future of Energy Efficiency
With its investment in this new facility, CALGAVIN is setting the stage for a future where industrial processes are not only more efficient but also more sustainable. The company remains focused on pushing the boundaries of heat transfer technology and fostering collaborations that will shape the future of energy.
